The World Famous Winter Roller Races

This is an absolute hoot riot way to kill the winter blues. We setup multiple sets of rollers, connected to BIG clock looking things that gauge distance. We go to a local bar, hall or some kind of venue where we can drink copious amounts of beer. We bring in a DJ, a crazy MC. We dress up in crazy outfits. And finally we race, we race 500m and 1000m roller races in a reparcharge format. Every one goes home high on life.

The Tour des Ponts

The Tour des Ponts is a classic fall ride the club runs each year. It hits the best gravel and paved roads on the Ontario side from West Ottawa to near Renfrew. We cross an old dam near Portage du Fort and then hit the sweetest roads on in West Quebec along the Ottawa river between Quyon and Aylmer.

The Echelon Project

The Echelon Project is the brainchild of member at large John Large. It’s the WQW’s way of giving back to the sport’s development. It’s a program to encourage kids to get on their bikes, enjoy cycling and maybe start racing too. It’s focused on young riders from early teens to early 20′s.
